Ronald McDonald House

From the moment you enter our doors, we want your family to be comfortable. But most importantly, we want to provide the support needed so that you can focus on the most important thing — your child’s healing.

 

Eligibility

In order to stay at the Ronald McDonald House, families must live outside El Paso and have a child under the age of 21 who is receiving treatment in a local hospital. Criteria for clearing families from our waiting list include distance traveled, seriousness of the illness.

 

About Our Rooms

The Ronald McDonald House in El Paso has 10 guest rooms. All rooms are slightly different and are meant to accommodate families' varying needs. All of the rooms include a private bathroom and TV with cable.

 

Kitchen Facilities

Each family living at the Ronald McDonald House has access to kitchen facilities and a well stocked pantry. Stoves, refrigerators, freezers, microwaves, cooking utensils and dishes are available.

 

What is Provided

You'll need very little for your stay at the Ronald McDonald House.

We provide:

• bed linens (be sure to bring any "favorite" pillows, blankets, stuffed animals, etc.)
• towels
• paper products
• cleaning supplies
• videos
• children’s toys
• cooking supplies (pots, pans, coffee makers, utensils, food, and coffee)
• Laundry room with 3 sets of washers and dryers

 

Cost

We accept donations; however, no family is ever turned away for inability to pay. We also accept Texas/New Mexico Medicaid and private insurance.

 

Transportation

RMHC El Paso has a shuttle that provides transportation to and from the hospital Monday through Friday to various hospitals near our facility. The shuttle runs twice a day on a scheduled basis.

You’ll find that when families arrive at our House, they form friendships and share moments with our staff and the other families also facing the challenges of having a sick child. The continued love and support that families experience at the House truly makes a difference.
