Volunteer with child

Ways to Volunteer

Through our programs, we help families cope with the uncertainty, confusion and fear of having a sick child. We simply could not accomplish our mission without the caring help of our amazing volunteers!

Our volunteers provide over 3,700 hours of service to the Charity annually! We are always seeking dedicated, compassionate, reliable friends to help us serve our families of sick or injured children.

Volunteering as a group or individually. You can provide meals for our families, cover a shift in a Family Room, or we always have many opportunities for you to help support our families at their moment of greatest need.

Hospital Family Room Volunteer

Family Room Volunteers work in the hospital setting at our Ronald McDonald Family Rooms. These beautiful rooms allow families to refresh with snacks, check emails, take a nap or just relax and watch TV while still remaining just a heartbeat away from their child. Volunteers welcome incoming families, help with small tasks and show care and compassion to our families.

Ronald McDonald House Volunteer

House Volunteers assist our staff with the day-to-day operations at the Ronald McDonald House. Duties may include office tasks, organizing, filing, cleaning, minor maintenance and many of the other needs that aide our organization to serve others. Individual volunteers or groups are always welcome to serve a wide range of general assistance around our house and offices.

Guest Chefs

Guest Chefs help to feed families staying at the Ronald McDonald House. We have three stoves, two microwaves and lots of pots and pans to make cooking a snap! Bring the ingredients and cook a meal that provides care and comfort to the families of sick children. Meals can be brought on site prepared and ready to serve; catering meals is also an option.

If you would like to register as a Guest Chef, please contact Rachel Garcia, Program Director at (915)542-1522.

Youth Volunteers (17 and younger)

Ronald McDonald House Charities accepts a limited number of Youth Volunteers each semester. Please have your parent or guardian contact us to discuss arrangements and schedule hours. We love our Youth Volunteers, and we look forward to hearing from you!

Freezer Friends

Freezer Friends help to fill our casserole freezer to feed our families when we do not have a dinner provided. Bring the ingredients and schedule a time to prepare the casseroles in our awesome kitchen - or simply donate a store-bought casserole!

“The House provided us with comfort and a peace of mind.”
